Is your press suitable for beginners?
Yes. Our presses are beginner-friendly, but they are also a strong choice for workshops, artists, and more experienced printmakers.
What can I use the press for?
Our press is designed for relief printmaking, including linocut and woodblock printing.
Can I use oil-based or water-based ink?
We recommend using printmaking inks suitable for relief printing. Both oil-based and water-based inks may be used, depending on your preferred process and materials.
How much ink should I use?
A thin, even layer of ink usually gives the best result. Too much ink can reduce detail and create an uneven print.
What is the correct printmaking order?
The usual order is: inked block, paper, then felt. This helps create more even pressure and cleaner results.
Do I need felt pads?
Felt pads are recommended because they help distribute pressure more evenly during printing.
Can smaller blocks be printed on a larger press?
Yes. You can use smaller blocks on a larger press without a problem, as long as the setup is positioned properly.
Can I print on fabric?
The press is mainly designed for relief printmaking on paper, but some users may experiment with fabric depending on the material, ink, and setup.
What is the maximum block thickness?
Our presses are designed for standard relief printmaking materials. If you plan to use unusually thick blocks, please contact us before ordering.
